Removing Shift Knob WITHOUT DAMAGE!!! Transfer Case – Jeep Wrangler JK
This is another short tip video to demonstrate how to remove the transfer case shifter knob from your JK Wrangler without damaging the knob or your face.
It’s fascinating to me how many howto videos there are out there that don’t actually show the removal, but rather show you AFTER they removed it. They tell you how they did it. They should be called how-did vidoes! lol Here’s a video of me removing this knob like three times… THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT TO EXPECT.
This is very simple, but a bit scary for those who don’t know what to expect. My hope is that showing the actual removal in a video will help those who want to do this but are hesitant after reading how hard it is, or how easy it is to smack yourself in the face! : – )
Why would you want to remove your shift knob? Typically it’s for one of two reasons:
1. You may want to replace the knob with an aftermarket one to give your Jeep a cool new look.
2. You may need to remove the knob to fully disassemble the center console.
